Caspian Complex Environmental Monitoring Administration |
Caspian Complex Environmental Monitoring Administration (CCEMA) was founded by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Republic (order number 138/U dated 28 November, 2001).
Administration began its activities in January 1970 under different names, but its main activities were ecological investigations of the Caspian Sea.
During this period administiration expanded its material and technical basis and functions as a plenipotentiary body under the Ministry in Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea, as well as in its 955,8 km coastal zone by organizing and carrying out ecological monitoring for the effective use of the sea natural resources and prognosticate quantity and quality parameters of anthropogenic impact to environment, define ecological criterias on scientific grounds.
There are 6 sectors (Monitoring; Information, modeling and prognosis; Analytical Researches; Biology and Ecotoxicology; Microbiology; Supply), Measure center against pollution from coast to the Caspian Sea and Fleet Service in structure of the administration.
