The works fulfilled by the Caspian Complex Environmental Monitoring Administration in 2009 |
Caspian Complex Monitoring Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has carried out 1371 ecological monitoring in 2009 participating in 4 expeditions organized on the sector of Caspian sea belonging to Azerbaijan, on the shore-strip of 955,08 kilometer (from the north to the south), on the beach areas, as well as in the institutions and objects functioning on the sea, on the floating means and on the open areas upon determined coordination. 33553 chemical, biological, ecotoxical and microbiological analyses have been carried out on 4152 water and soil samples taken during monitoring.
341 streams related to the Caspian Sea have been noted during the implemented monitoring and therefore those streams exert anthropogenic impact on the sea as the result of 310 institutions and objects functioning on shore and 31 institutions and objects functioning on the sea area. The relevant analyses have been carried out regularly on those samples taken from the streams and the information collected on stated ecological problems have been delivered to the concerned organs via the bulletins released by the Administration .
The measures in the direction of solution of matters forwarded by the Decree № 2244 dated June 20, 2007 on “Artistic measures about protection of the Caspian Sea from pollution” signed by the President of the Azerbaijan Republic were continued in 2009 like in the previous year.
In as much as 16 modular local cleaning plants have been installed and put into operation in the balance of the relevant municipalities in order to prevent the streams exerting anthropogenic influence on the Caspian Sea and cleaning and shedding the slops to the Caspian Sea on the area of 85 kilometer along Pirallahi-Sumgayit shore strip. Regular monitoring supervision has been carried out on the plants put into operation by the collaborators of the Caspian Complex Environmental Monitoring Administration and the analyses have been carried out on the samples taken from exit of plants to the sea and the information on their quality indicators have been delivered to the concerned organs of the Ministry.
As the result of functioning of the biological cleaning plant installed on the shore strip of Bilgah settlement and having daily capacity of 500 m3, cleaning of slops formed in Bilgeh Cardiologic Sanatorium and the nearby institutions to allowed thickness limit has been achieved. The results of microbiological analyses carried out on the water samples taken from the sea during the joint monitoring carried out by the collaborators of Baku city Sanitary Hygienic Centre in connection with the beach season in 2009 were satisfactory. In as much as, microbiological pollution has not been discovered on the stated area in comparison with the previous years.
Biological cleaning plant having daily capacity of 150 m3 serving to drying of two slops water ponds near the resort center “Gizil gum” located on the shore strip in Mardakan settlement have given their fruit. In as much as, ecological restoration works have been carried out on averagely 4/5 part of slops ponds having totally 64 thousand m2 area in Mardakan station № 2 and covering with soil and restoration works have been carried out in connection with falling of the level of ponds. Previously noted swamped area has already been abolished, volume of water and area of water surface has been considerably decreased.
Swamped area has been totally abolished as the result of the plant of rendering harmless having serving capacity of 240 m3/day serving to drying of the lake near the Mardakan station № 3 located near the resort Centre “Marian Beach” having total area of 220,075 thousand m2, water volume of 144 thousand m3 and swamping area of 29 thousand m2, water volume and water surface has been diminished.
Biological cleaning plant having daily capacity 500 m3 and 2 rendering harmless plants having daily capacity of 240 m3 have been installed on the swamped area consisting of 12 hectares and 40 m3/hour where the slops are entered between Buzovna and Shagan villages. As the result of funtions of those plants averagely 45 thousand m2 of 120 thousand m2 swamped area has been dried.
The Buzovna biological station № 5 having totally 100 m3 daily power serves to drying of the lake consisting of slops having averagely 52 thousand m2 area. As the result of functioning of the plant swamped area has been abolished, water volume and water surface has been considerably diminished in comparison with the previous year.
Cleaning of slops shedding to the Caspian sea according to the norms and standards has been provided on the account of 2 biological cleaning and 1 rendering harmless plants along the shore strip of Pirshagi and Nardaran settlements.
As the result of 5 modular cleaning plants installed on the shore strip of Novkhani settlement and put into operation cleaning of slops shedding to the Caspian sea in the volume of 1575 m3 per a day according to the norms and standards has been provided and restoration of ecological balance has been achieved as the result of drainage collectors installed in the length of 4500 meter on the area nearly 30 hectares on the shore strip of mentioned area and total drying of previously stated swamped areas has been realised. Modular cleaning plants installed on the shore strip of Sumgait administrative area serve to cleaning and shedding to the sea of 650 m3 slops per a day according to the norms and standards.
The collaborators of the Administration closely participated in subbotniks with participation of the administrative representatives along Baku, Sumgait cities and Khachmaz, Neftchala, Lenkaran administrative areas, the local power structures, restoration and flat commubal unions, the higher and secondary educational institutions, as well as in the round tables and discussions organised in the Ministries and scientific-educational hearths.
