Rational and purposeful activity of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources that directed to environmental protection was successfully continued in the field of international cooperation as well. Several documents on cooperation with region states, developed countries and international organizations were developed and agreement procedures were implemented.
”Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Latvia on cooperation in the field of environment protection” was signed on 25-28 June 2009 in the course of Latvian delegation visit to Azerbaijan headed by Mr. Raimonds Vejonis, Minister of Environment of the Republic of Latvia, on 25-28 June 2009.
Beside that the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and German Technical Cooperation Organization (GTZ) of the Federal Republic of Germany on “Cooperation in the field of sustainable use of nature resources” was signed by Decree No 330 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 17 July 2009,.
At the same time “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Korea Environmental Industry and Technologies Institute on the development of Environment Management Plan in Azerbaijan” was signed on 14 September 2009 by Decree No 436 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 10 August 2009,.
The “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Environment of Syria on cooperation in the field of environment protection” was submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan to pass relevant procedures with regard to its signing.
Mr. H.Baghirov, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan was nominated as a co-chair of Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological co-operation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of India by Decree No 117 of the President of the of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 16 January 2006, and in this regard the first meeting of Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological co-operation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic and Protocol was signed as a result of aforementioned meeting.
“European Landscape Convention” was translated into state language and ratification procedures from the Republic of Azerbaijan are being implemented.

The cooperation is being implemented with international organizations such as GEF, UNIDO, UNEP, USAID, NATO, WORLD BANK, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Asian Development Bank (ADB).
